Throughout
history, lesser known and chronically under-funded scientists
have pondered the question: What happens when unreformed cynicism
collides with unbridled optimism? Toss a guitar, a clarinet,
a flute, and an Irish tin whistle into the mix, and the answer
is: Robin & Eddy, a dynamic and spiritually-funded duo from
Melbourne Beach, FL.
Tom Lehrer once said that the reason that most folk music
is so terrible is because it was written by "the people."
Though genetically and biologically unable to avoid the ineluctable
Lehrer logic, Robin & Eddy have taken the tools of folk music;
acoustic guitar, rich acoustic wind instruments, and vocal
harmonies and built a brand new house from them. Their music
is catchy, sometimes haunting, and always memorable. With
intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics and complex, beautifully
crafted vocal harmonies, Robin & Eddy's music soars above
the banalities of much of the acoustic music currently available.
Who is this music for? At the risk of being overly inclusive,
everyone! Musicians will love it for the quality of the musicianship.
